Local
Petroleum Firms Go Solar!
$
1.12 MM project starts in Sept. ‘06
STOCKTON
,
CA
(September 5, 2006) – Van De Pol Enterprises, Inc. and Fuel
Delivery Services, Inc. have contracted with Pacific Power Management,
a company specializing in solar electric system integration, to
improve its bottom line operating expenses by turning sunshine into
electricity.
The installation of a 134-KW photovoltaic system at the firms’
Stockton
headquarters is expected to start after September 18th and
will continue for 6 weeks. The
solar system will generate approximately $ 55,000 annually in energy
cost savings. “After moving into our new facility in August 2004, it
came to our attention that we were a prime candidate for the
installation of a solar electric system.
Looking forward to the life of our facility we determined that
this project will provide us with reliable power, long term energy
cost protection and savings, and allow us to utilize the natural
resources beneficial to those in the
Central Valley
. We are excited to be
involved in this technology and know that it will exceed our
expectations” says president
Ron Van De Pol
. “As a local energy provider, we felt it was important to do what
we can to conserve our natural resources and use alternative,
renewable sources of power where possible.”
In addition to tailoring energy-efficiency programs and power
management strategies for each client, Pacific Power Management
designs and builds custom rooftop solar arrays.
The systems integrate the finest materials available to produce
high-efficiency, long-life photovoltaic systems that quietly generate
electricity that can be used to power on-site lights and equipment.
The overall project cost is $ 1.12 million.
Pacific
Power Management has installed several megawatts of commercial
photovoltaic systems throughout northern CA. Its clients have reaped
rebates and tax breaks through the CA Self-Generation program and
state and federal tax incentives. “Once the project is complete, our
companies anticipate annual energy savings in the $ 45–55,000 range.
These savings, along with the rebates and applied tax
incentives will allow this project to be paid in 7 years.
After that time, we will only have minimal energy costs; and
since energy costs will continue to increase, we will see our savings
continue to grow over the 25 year warranty of the project,” adds
Ron Van De Pol.
Van
De Pol Enterprises, Inc. and Fuel Delivery Services, Inc. have focused
on renewable energy solutions, improved efficiency and pro-active
conservation techniques by working with Pacific Power Management to
turn
California
sunshine into clean power.
